Starting something new takes courage. But SMYoga takes pride in making yoga accessible and comfortable for you. If you stick with it, yoga will make you stronger, healthier, and less stressed. What happens at a yoga class?

Each class begins with a short period of centering with the eyes closed. The teacher may have you focus on your breathing. Then the teacher guides you through a set of poses that build in intensity and then taper off. You might sweat during this more active part of class. At the end of each class, there is a five to ten-minute period of final relaxation.


Can I do yoga if I’m not flexible? What if I don't have a "yoga body"?

Anyone with a body can do yoga! We have a bunch of levels, from Gentle to Advanced, so you're sure to find the right fit for you. If you’re stiff, yoga can help you become more flexible!


What should I wear? Do I need a yoga outfit?

We often practice in jammie pants from Old Navy. Just wear something comfortable, easy to move in, and not too baggy. Yoga is practiced barefoot.


Do I need to bring a mat or any props?

Nope, just bring yourself! We provide all the props, including yoga mats for you to borrow.


Anything else I should know?

Please be punctual, avoid wearing strongly-scented deodorant or perfume, and put your props away as neatly as you found them.
